Aussie Dean Lucas joins Scott DH for 2019

Victoria native Dean Lucas will join Scott DH Factory for the 2019 downhill season. The 23-year-old announced on Instagram today that he'll be teaming up with Brit Brendan Fairclough and French pair Marine Cabirou and Flo Payet, who have come over from Mondraker second team VoulVoul Racing. The team will be managed by Patrice Afflatet.

Lucas, who finished 19th in the overall DH standings last season, paid tribute to the welcome he's received from his new team. "Can’t thank everyone at Scott enough for being so welcoming and putting so much faith into me for the coming years," he said.

Now a seasoned campgaigner, Lucas will be going into his sixth season as an Elite racer looking for a better start than 2018, where the Aussie was taken to hospital on a stretcher during a practice run before the Fort William event in June, just the second event on the calendar.

With just over three months to go until the first 2019 World Cup stage in Slovenia, MBA will bring you all the Aussie rider team news as the build-up to the new season picks up speed.
