Evocities Action

With Wagga Wagga set to host round four, the 2016 Evocities MTB Series has hit the halfway point. Racing will take place on the Pomingalarna trails and follow a six hour XC-enduro format, with entries open to solo riders as well as pairs and teams of three.

The 13km long figure of eight loop through Pomingalarna Park takes you through native bushland with a great mix of trails; from fast and flowing through to a few rocky challenges—there’s something for riders of all abilities.

The goal is to complete as many laps as possible around the course but they have something different planned for the end. Series coordinator Tracey Willock explains; “Unlike most endurance rides where the lap completed after the six hour mark is counted, Wagga Wagga’s race has an interesting twist. For this event, riders must be back in transition before the six hours are up in order for their last lap to count.”

They also have a kids race planned to get the whole family involved, “There will be a 30-minute event for the under twelves run on a 2km course adjacent to the transition area. The Wagga Evocities 6 hour MTB Enduro will have something to cater for riders of all ages and skill levels, not to mention there’s $6,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs!”

The generous prize money is on offer with the support of Evocities MTB Series sponsors including Fairfax Media; QantasLink; Forestry Corporation; NSW Mining; Charles Sturt University; Macquarie and Orange Anglican Grammar Schools; Spinifex Recruiting; Maas Group Properties; and Prime 7.

The 'Wagga Evocities 6 hour MTB Enduro' will take place on Sunday the 4th of September. Registrations can be made online at www.evocitiesmtb.com/enterwagga.
