We’re seeing a growing number of ‘do it all’ helmets that are pitched directly at the enduro market, and the latest entrant comes from Belgium brand Lazer.

The Revolution features a modular design with optional ear coverage and a removable chin guard. In its basic form it is a trail oriented helmet with 23 vents, with a fully adjustable retention system and the option of Mips technology for added protection against rotational forces. In this form it’s said to weigh 340g which is on the money for a trail helmet with extended head coverage. It also features an integrated camera mount and the design has been fully crash tested; it’s the first helmet that we’ve heard of that complies with standards when a camera is fitted.

From there things start to get even more interesting. Lazer offers extended ear pads for the Revolution and a chin guard; something that is sure to appeal to anyone competing in enduro, as many of these events are making full-face protection mandatory for 2016 and beyond.

With the Revolution you’ll be able to ride the transition stages and climbs with an open face helmet, then attach the chin guard for the timed ‘special stages’ — a pleasant alternative to carrying two helmets or sweltering inside a full-face all day.

The regular Revolution sells for $220 while the Mips version is $250 and both have already passed Australian standards testing. Pricing isn’t currently available on the accessories but they should be available by April this year.

The following video from Lazer provides an overview of all the features.
