Roam Wheels Gain Girth

SRAM continues to pump out new products at a rapid rate. The latest item to receive a makeover is the Roam 60 wheelset.

Their top-end carbon trail wheels now sport properly wide rims with a 30mm inner rim dimension. The inner profile is now hookless and tubeless compatible—a completely up to date design.

These wide rims are paired with 24 butted spokes per wheel and they’ve updated their pawl mechanisim too; it now offers 52 engagement points per revolution for fast uptake when riding in technical terrain.

They’ll be offered with both regular and boost hubs but for the moment they’re 27.5 only — no 29er version is listed at this point. Weight-wise SRAM claims 1,625g for the pair, which seems respectable given their width. Expect to see these in Australia by April and a matching pair should sell for a touch under $3,000.
