Specialized launches ‘lightest ever’ hardtail
Specialized have pulled no punches with their latest bike release, declaring the New Epic Hardtail the ‘lightest production hardtail chassis’ on the market.
Boasting a weight of just 775 grams (Medium S-Works frame), the Epic HT certainly backs up its designers’ claim.
Building on the foundations of the original Epic HT, the updated version features the following improvements:
- Altering geometry for a lower fork offset of 42mm and shorter stems (60-75mm)
- Arced seat tube design, allowing for a full-length dropper posts if desired
- An increased tyre clearance (good news for XC riders)
- A refined mix of fibre and resin in the frame to reduce weight
