Syntace Megaforce 2 Stem

There’s a clear trend towards wider handlebars in every type of mountain biking—from slopestyle through to XC racing and everything in between. The Syntace Megaforce 2 has been designed specifically to handle the additional loads that wider bars produce. It’s said to be strong enough for downhill applications but remains light enough for cross-country use. Measuring 49mm across, the handlebar clamp is extremely wide and the stem body is ovalised to maintain this width back towards the steerer tube. While it may be wide to eliminate twisting and better support wide bars, the Megaforce 2 is quite shallow in its height to provide vertical give and allow it to fit short steerer tubes. Weights range from 107g (30mm length) up to 149g (80mm length) and it has been tested with 800mm wide bars and deemed suitable for any application with no rider weight limit. The Megaforce 2 sells for $159 and comes with a 10 year warranty.
