Tassie Ride Guide

Mountain biking is exploding in Tasmania at the moment with trail developments popping up all over the island. While everybody is talking about the Blue Derby trail network (and with close to 100km of government funded trail why wouldn’t you?), there's also a lot more that's worth checking out.

The new Tasmanian MTB guidebook includes all of the newly opened trails as well as a bunch of lesser-known classics—a total of 40 rides around the region. Every ride is outlined with a route description, elevation profile and a range of handy additional information such as mobile coverage for the different phone networks, trail ratings and facilities.

This 208 page book was researched and created by Travis and Jane Deane – regular contributors to Mountain Biking Australia – and it’ll never dropout, lose WiFi connectivity or run out of batteries.

The Tasmanian MTB guidebook costs around $35 and is available from most Tasmanian bike shops or online.
