Cadel Evans is possibly the most successful Aussie male cyclist ever, winning the 2011 Tour de France as well as the 2009 World Road Championships. Of course most Mountain Biking Australia readers will know that he began his competitive career as a cross-country MTB racer.

We've dug through the archives to bring you the earliest Cadel photo we could find plus a few others just for fun. These come from the early 90’s — way before he had signed a pro contract or started winning World Cup XC races.
